Design21C – Brand identity and communication design

  • Design 21C is a non-for profit organisation that is a catalyst for design thinking and practice between communities, business and institutions. Studio Richards was briefed to create an identity that would reflect the optimism, innovation and creativity of this new organization.
  • Communicating the philosophy of Design21C through it’s identity meant that it needed a strong, engaging brand graphic style that would encourage rather than alienate communities and individuals to be design orientated.
  • The solution was to create a simple typographic logotype, stacked to reduce the length of the name. A rainbow blend, representing the positive values of the organisation.
  • This blend is also used as a hero graphic device that can be applied in many different ways to create ownership and consistency to the Design 21C communications.
